Our Mission

Thank you for taking interest in yacht Auriga and our planned South Atlantic expedition.
We are a group of dreamers - we dream of crossing oceans, we dream of remote islands, and we hope we can share our dreams with you.
We work hard to make our dreams come true, and we would like to document our preparations as well as our adventures, the highs as well as the lows. While we are no newcomers to sailing, we are constantly learning, and by sharing our experiences in this blog, we are hoping to help others - by providing advice on boat selection, maintenance, equipment and sailing routes, or by inspiring you to plan your own adventure!

We wouldn't be were we are now without the invaluable support of our many friends old and new, each deserving a story of their own. Thank you Diana, Jessica, Gines, Dan, Jordan, the guy who serviced our liferaft, the guy who took my lines in Plymouth, the guy in Weymouth who made coffee at 1am, the friendly workshop staff at the Physics Department, Richard Fawcett - too numerous to list everyone.

The expedition is endorsed and supported by the Cambridge University Yacht Club (CUYC) and the Cambridge University Expeditions Society (CUEX), and we are thankful for advice and support we recieved from Alex Cowan, an experienced high-latitudes guide.

We are always looking for support and advice - please get in touch if you can help, or indeed think we can help you.

Igor, Matt and Giulia
